Vipul Kumar is a visionary journalist and social activist who has dedicated over a decade to the pursuit of truth in the Indian heartland. As the Editor-in-Chief and President of Watch Over India, he bridges the critical gap between investigative reporting and legal activism.
His career began in some of India's most respected newsrooms, but he soon realized that reporting the news was only half the battle. To achieve true accountability, journalism needed to be paired with a mechanism for action. This realization led to the founding of Watch Over India Trust.
A Dual Mandate
Under Vipul's leadership, WOI has pioneered the "Media-Legal Nexus" model—where ground reports are meticulously verified and then transitioned into legal petitions when necessary. He believes that the pen is mightiest when it is backed by the rule of law.
